Corn Conditions: The Total US Corn Conditions remain at a 74% Good/Excellent rating this week, up from last year’s 69% rating at this time. Looking across the board: ND,TX, MI, and KY all moved down a percent. IL is down 2% to a 71% G/E rating. SD and OH are down 3% while PA is at a -6% on the week to a 53% rating. NE, MN, IA, WI, and TN all remain unchanged on the week. Moving up a percent is CO, KS, MO, and IL. NC was the biggest mover this week at a 2% increase to a 66% rating. WI is still looking at the best rating reaming at an 88%.
Soybean Conditions: Beans also remain at the same rating. The Total US Soybean Crop Conditions are at 72% which is up from last year’s 63% Good/Excellent rating. SD, MN, WI, OH, TN, and NC are all down a percent. MI is down 2% to a 55% rating while IN dropped 3% to a 71% this week. Then there is LA which moved down 9% from 78% last week to a 69% rating this week. On the up side: ND, NE, IA, IL, and KY all moved up a percent. Also moving for the better is KS, MO, and MS all at a positive 2% on the week. WI has the best rating on soybeans as well at a 87%.
Spring Wheat Harvest: Once again changing gears to wheat harvest. The Total Spring Wheat Harvested has move to 48% this week from a 30% last week. SW harvest is 2% ahead of last year’s harvest. SD has the most acres covered at 84% completed this week. Followed by MN and ID which are both at 57% completed. ND and WA both moved up to 44% harvested. MT trails behind at a 37% harvested this week, up from a 19% last week but down from last year’s 39% harvested at this time. ND made the most progress this week with a 22% increase.
Winter Wheat Harvest: WW harvest is starting to wind down. The Total US Winter Wheat Harvested it at 97% this week, up from last week’s 94% and a few points behind last year’s 99% harvested at this time. The list of completed states is getting longer: TX, OK, KS, NE, AR, MO, IL, IN, OH, MI, and NC are all at 100% harvested! CO and CA are both just about done at a 99% harvested this week. MT is at 94%, which is up from an 82% last week. SD is up one percent this week to a 93% harvested. OR, WA, and ID are at 87%, 74% and 72% respectively. WA and ID were the biggest movers this week, both moving up 17%.
