CORN: As of 7:45-3 lower

The ProFarmer tour kicked off yesterday and will conclude on Thursday with the two legs of the tour converging on Iowa. Weekly USDA crop conditions out yesterday afternoon showed nationwide corn ratings dropping by 1% to 72% Good/Excellent. SD G/E ratings dropped another 2% this week. Some talk with the cooler weather this summer and how it compares to the wet, immature crop of 2009. Below is a chart showing denting progress as of this week and it is showing us nearly a week ahead of where we were ’09.

SOYBEANS: As of 7:45 – 6 lower

Beans rallied yesterday as positive crush margins have processors looking hard for those last old crop soybeans. ProFarmer pod counts from OH ranged from 1,137 to 1,357 vs. 1,284 LY and SD ranged from 831 to 1,429 vs. 1,016 LY. Crop conditions showed nationwide soybean conditions improving 1% nationwide, with SD down 1%. Improvers on the week were MO, AR, and the eastern belt.

WHEAT: As of 7:45 –2-3 lower

Wheat was a follower of corn lower yesterday. Spring Wheat harvest progress showed us behind average, but ahead of last year on progress…….. No surprise here given the recent moisture and temps. SD is 35% complete vs. the average of 75%. ND is just getting going at 6% harvested.
