The 2013 crop production season seems to have been a whirlwind of activity- from late and compressed planting to the various weather events we have experienced. In spite of uneven crop growth, driving around the regions recently, there are a lot of REALLY GOOD fields out there! There is potential for good economic return for growers, but, as I said about this time last year, we need to PROTECT THE CROP WE’VE GOT! Corn is just getting to the tassel growth stage or has started recently. Soybeans are beginning to flower. Healthy, stress-free plants at this growth stage are needed to maximize yield potential for the growers. Please remain vigilant for yield robbing pests like diseases and insects.
