CORN: As of 7:45 – Down 3
Crop conditions were unchanged at 74% Good/Excellent yesterday. Progress wise, 69% of the US crop is dented compared to 61% last year and the 5 year average of 74%. ND sticks out the most as being the furthest behind on maturity……especially with the talk of cold weather in the next 5 days. Low Temps look to be moderating in the mid 30’s for NE SD thru Saturday morning.
SOYBEANS: As of 7:45 – Down 6
Soybean conditions were unchanged on the week at 72% G/E. SD was up 1% to 75% G/E and is showing 12% of the SD crop is dropping leaves. USDA announced another 120,000 mt of bean to China yesterday.
WHEAT: As of 7:45 – MPLS Down 2, KC Down 4
Spring wheat harvest plugs along as crop condition ratings decline. Nationally we are 58% complete, well behind our average of 78%. SD is just about there at 88% complete. ND and MN continue to struggle getting the crop in the bin at 42% and 54% respectively. The crop condition rating dropped 3% this week as it stands mature in the field. Protein scales are getting wider, both on the high and the low side of 14% pro.
